You can take a standard photo with the iPhone sure. There's nothing preventing that photo from an iPhone to be used as a passport photo if it meets the requirements for it.


The only thing that makes it specifically a passport photo is the printed size and how you frame it when taking it.


The printed size is determined by where or how you print it obviously, and the framing how far away the phone is from you when you take it. Basically the fact its taken with an iPhone does not preclude it from being a passport photo.


Follow the requirements issued for the passport photo when taking and printing out the photo.
