Problems with icloud in outlook

My icloud email mailbox keeps forgetting the password in Outlook. I can login to icloud from a browser and i can get my email on my phone but when i open outlook on my PC it won't retrieve new messages. Several months ago I could get it to work by using the app-specific password but now that doesn't even work. I've reset the appleid password and tried entering that but I keep getting an error message saying: "we couldn't log on to the incoming (IMAP) server. Please check your email address and password and try again." Any suggestions for fixing this problem would be much appreciated. I'm running Windows 10 and using Office 365.
