Loss of settings button after update to iOS 12.4.4.
After updating to iOS 12.4.4 the Settings button on my iPad mini 2 has disappeared completely. How do I get it back or how do I now make changes to my settings?

You could try going to settings, general, reset, reset home screen layout. That will reset the screen to the way it was just out of the box. If you have any folders set up, you will need to recreate them.

It can’t be deleted. Look on other screens or in folders.
I know it can’t, but it has been - completely! It’s not on any display and the button for one of my apps, Outlook, is distorted and is now permanently attached to the lower menu.
Try a spotlight search for it.
Deleted Outlook app and settings button returned to the Dock, but the distorted Outlook button is still on the Dock and over-shadows any app button on right side of the Dock.
