Brother ADS-2700W scan to network

I have a Brother ADS-2700W Document scanner. Since the upgrade to Catalina I cannot get it to scan to Network folders. I can scan to PC which puts scan in Pictures folder on one machine. So Network is ok. We also still have a machine running Mojave, this still works and scans to the correct folder on desktop.

I have added brother PushScan to Full Disk Access and Accessibility. I can use the Software on the Mac to scan but the scanner is on the other side of the room and it is better to use Network scan to choose which machine to scan to and then return to desk with papers. Have upgrade Firmware.

Am I missing a new setting in the operating system?

Has the 'Network Folder Path' format changed in the scanner settings?

iMac 27", macOS 10.15

I add a very good conversation with someone from your Brother yesterday. Managed to narrow the problem down to 'smb' communication. We couldn't connect to the shared folder this way on any of the Mac's.

After a couple of calls with Apple we managed to sort it. There were a few this we did but the final couple were:-

Reset permissions for the hard drive.

Removed the shared folder in System Preferences

Turned File sharing off

Turned File sharing on

Replaced shared folder.

This now works between Mac’s and scanner and now scan to all 3 Mac’s

This is just a guess, but this sounds like a permissions/sandbox issue with the Brother driver, that they are not allowed to write there, even though you gave full access. Again, just a guess, but there may be some helpful information in /Utilities/Console if you filter for "sandbox" or "violation".

If that is the issue, I am not sure how to get around it - I think the fix would have to come from Brother. Have you contacted them?

Hope this helps.
