An update is required to use mobile data in iphone

I got a sudden problem which is showing “An update is required to use mobile data on this iphone". It was asking me to update the software. The problem remains same even though I have updated. I can't make any call or can’t use any data through my mobile data. It is still showing “ Mobile data update failed”. Too frustrating. Plus i went to the iphone shop to check but they can't help me at all. they only know how to update but not solving my issue in iphone X. They inform to buy new phone, which not acceptable. i have a issue with iphone software, if you guys cant solve this who can? Kindly assist me with this phone.

Hi Nesh,

Allow me to get some clarity on this. Are you stating that you are neither able to make/receive calls nor able to connect to the internet by using your mobile data? You stated that you also went to an "iPhone Shop" and was that an authorized by Apple repair shop?

I believe that you need to approach your cellular service provider and see if your account is still valid and also, if necessary, change out the SIM card. Are you able to test your iPhone with a friend's or a family members' SIM card to see if that is the issue?

You need to contact your carrier for this issue. You need a carrier update.

This is an issue you need to get resolution from your Cellular Provider.

Hi Axel,

Thanks for the reply .. yes im not able to make/receive calls nor able to connect to the internet by using your mobile data, its shows an error message of mobile data need to be updated. yes, both shop i went was an authorized by apple repair shop. The respond both give was surprising for me. Only encourage me to buy iPhone 11. i have already try all the basic trouble shooting for the phone. when i try to access to mibile data it shows error. when i enter it shows An update is required to use mobile data on this iphone. due to this issue im not able to use my phone.

it happens before i was able to do the update for latest ios. i understand that phones sometimes can give some trouble. but when the iphone provider also cant solve this problem, it disappointments me. i have updated to the latest versions. but it does not do any good. the problem still remains.

hi rbrylawski, thanks for the info, Actually i already try call and talk them ready. From the provider side there is no use, plus i can use the same sim in different iPhone and also in different phone as well. So the problem is actually with the phone. if i can get a better idea to solve this issue will good.
