insists me to sign in, but won't accept my Apple ID, which is email,

trying to install Cataline, tells me I must sign in as administrator. I use my Mac id, which is my email, then my password. Won't work. When I change id to name it still worn't work

Clarification question - are you signing in using your user name and password?

MacBook Pro rejecting correct Apple ID and password I am having issues connecting my apple ID to my MacBook pro(early 2015 model). I attempt to sign in my apple ID through the system preferences page and when I add in the correct information it seems to neither accept or deny it which then takes me back to the option/ original page of filling in my apple ID username. Very tired of Apple ID asking for sign in every time I open up my new MacBook Air (Monterey 12.3.1) to try to do work. I am being driven insane by. new requirements to use Apple ID sign in every time I open my new MacBook Air to work. Something about the setup is just not "sticking." I have changed the passwords over and over again. I am using an email as my Apple ID. Every often in the sign-in process I plug in what I have established as my Apple ID, and the response is that the account hasn't been set up yet. Over and over again, the same screens show up.

Password for Apple ID only works in some places. I recently changed the password for my Apple ID. I changed the password because of this problem. When I try and login to the forums for example (Safari running Monterey), I get a prompt asking if I want to sign in to idmsa.apple.com with my Apple ID. I click 'Continue with password' using my new password which always fails (using copy/paste, but also failed when I manually typed the password). If I click 'Use a different Apple ID' and manually enter my Apple ID and password I'm able to login. That's how I logged in here. I'm having the same login trouble on another Mac I've don't a factory reset on where I'm prompted for my Apple ID during the setup (Mac running Catalina). I'm wondering if something hasn't synced, but otherwise don't know why this is happening. Thanks
