iPhone 11 screen scratch

I just noticed today that there is a small scratch (deep, not cracked) on my iPhone 11 screen. I thought these things were supposed to be extremely resistant t o scratching!!! I had my previous phone (an iPhone 6) for five years without a screen protector or anything and never had any issues with scratching. Is anyone else having problems with the iPhone 11 screen scratching. Will Apple do anything to repair a scratched screen.
