How to find a lost autosaved Word document on iPad?

Hi everyone

I use Microsoft word to write notes and it is always on Autosave. I always find the files I work with on 'Recent' tabs when I open Word. Suddenly, the files disappeared off the recent files. I need to find them. I've looked on my icloud but it did not have an up to date version, and Onedrive did not have any luck either. Someone please help me as I need those documents. They've been autosaved all the time so surely they must be somewhere!

Did you check the Files folder on the iPad? You may also want to check the Options settings area for the Word app, to see if it tells where the Autosave is saved to. On the computer, at least for Windows, it is saved in a different location than Documents. I've never checked for the iPad.

I just went into the Settings for the latest version of Word on the iPad, and do not see a setting for Autosave. I'll keep checking to see if I can find something else, but for now I cannot.

It seems all I can find is AutoSave, and that would seem to be based on the last place you saved that particular document, be it the iPad, OneDrive, or somewhere else.

You will probably need to contact Microsoft Support for an answer for this. Like I said in my response, I can find no additional information about the Autosave and it seems to work differently than the computer version. Are you logged into your OneDrive account? If so, have you checked there. It seems that may be the default setting for autosaving documents.
