Help with Apple Maps on CarPlay

Good afternoon all,

I think I’m probably missing something silly but I’m trying to enter a manual destination on Apple Maps using my CarPlay and I can’t figure out how to do it.

I can select previous destinations and also select locations via Siri but I can’t figure out how to type something in unless I do it on my phone.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Carplay - Apple Map - Direction not Available. I driving a BMW F30. Using Carplay and everything was good until I change my phone or I use the higher firmware. My new phone using IOS 13.3.1 I always using Apple map in Carplay because Apple Map can share the directions from apple map to my car map. I make me feel so free when i can use carplay and car navi map at the same time. But after i change my phone. The problem happened. When i try to directions. i got this notice: and this problem sometimes happen sometimes not. Can anyone show me how to fix it? my phone still can get the directions. How do you adjust directions in Apple Maps How do you adjust the directions that Apple Maps gives you for a particular destination? If I want to go to Destination X, Apple Maps will give me route A and maybe some alternate routes (B or C). I know that I will want to take a different route completely from A, B, or C to Destination X because I'm planning a trip out in the future where traffic will be different, etc. etc. Is there any way to force Apple Maps to adjust the directions? I can't seem to drag the recommended route to make Apple Maps take me the way I want to go. Do I just add stops instead of trying to drag the route on the map?

Many thanks, I’m pleased I’ve not missed anything silly but a bit disappointed I don’t have the option to type in a location. Seems a bit strange and I’ve not had much luck using Siri to get me anywhere.

Maps in Apple CarPlay does not support the typing in of destinations.

Destinations are selected using Siri or by selecting previous ly used or saved destinations.
