How do I get my screen to rotate when I rotate phone

The screen will only rotate while in specific apps, not on the home screen. If the screen will not rotate at all, check in Control Center for the orientation lock. The icon is a small padlock, with a circular arrow around it. If it is white background and red it is on, tap to turn it off.
