unable to scan using HP printer 9010. HP says it's an Apple issue. Apple should have a driver or something.

You might give VueScan a try. It's a very powerful scanning app that I've found to be much better than the software that came with my scanners. You can run it in Demo mode to see if it will work for you.
Open Image Capture in your Applications folder and see if you can scan from it.
You're welcome. Image Capture just takes a little getting use to. Personally I've used Image Capture for years and actually find it as good if not better than most of the manufactures scan-ware.
