Officejet Pro 6800

I recently purchased a new IMac and I am able to print but I cannot scan. My printer is an Office Jet Pro 8600. Do I need to install a different driver

Open Image Capture and see if it will recognize the Scanner.

https://support.apple.com/guide/image-capture/scan-images-imgcp1004/mac

If not, go to the manufacturers web site and see if there is an update for the scanner.
