MacBook Pro 16" i9 HDMI Interlaced output not working

Hi,

I'm trying to connect an external 1080i50 monitor to the MBP (16-inch, core i9, Catalina 10.15.2) but, even if I select in the System Preferences -> Display the "1080i" option on the external monitor, the output is still in progressive.

1080i50 -> actual output is 1080p25

1080i60 -> actual output is 1080p30

Already tried with different ports and adapters. Could you test and let me know if this is an Apple bug or something specific to my brand new Mac?

Thanks,

MacBook Pro 16", macOS 10.15

Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. Also, see How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD).
