Can you unlock an old iphone 6 once with 02 Been out of contact for 3+years

I have an old iphone 6, which was once lock with O2 can you unlock the phone To use with any phone provider?? I have tried other sim cards but it isn't usable, any advice?

unlock iphone 6s I have an old iphone 6s that was bought at an ATT store [this appears to now be permanently closed]. It was paid for upfront and i had a regular plan with ATT. I later got a new iphone 8 and transferred the account but just had the phone on the shelf. I am now trying to unlock it but keep getting the message it was denied. When I called ATT they say that this phone/imei is not showing up on their system and maybe the store i got was an authorized dealer and not an ATT direct store. The issue is the store is now closed and ATT tells me they cant unlock as they dont have the phone in their system. Is there any way I can get this unlocked?

That is a question you would have to ask o2. They are the only ones that can authorize an unlock.
