What is the difference between Apple ID and Apple password?

I have so much trouble with Apple ID and password. What is the difference? Because they ask for your email too. And then there's the icloud thing. So confused. Any hints to help

Your Apple ID is the email address you have set for your 'user' name. The password is what you use to log into that email address on Apple related web sites. The Apple ID password is usually different than the password you use to receive emails at the email address in your email program.
