This is ridiculous that so many fonts are loaded in Catalina and not removable.

Can Apple please hand back font control to the user. I work on myriad files in multiple languages and all of the artwork submitters use their own fonts, not Apple's. Now with Catalina, there is no way to remove braille or PingFAng or the countless other fonts that it says are "Required by the System."

Fine. Require them by the system and get them out of my Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop menus.

Apple stopped "getting it" a long time ago and decided they knew what was best for everybody. Obviously not.

Where in Mojave, I could at least run csrutil disable to get the ungodly amount of fonts out of my menus, with Catalina, I no longer can.

I have been a life-long mac proponent and now all I wish was that I could just do my design on the PC.

Nice job Apple. Oh and Font Book is absolutely worthless.

I too am not impressed with Font Manager. That said, it is easy to get rid of those unwanted fonts. I merely started my iMAC up from the OS I have in an external drive. Then I was able to easily drag any unwanted fonts on my Hard Drive to the trash. This included those which were in BOTH fonts folders, including the one in the System> Library folder. The lesson for me is use drag and drop where fonts are involved, not Font Manager. This approach should solve your problem.
