I don't have the Announce Messages with Siri option

Had the same problem and found the solution...

1. Plug in your AirPods and bring your iOS device near them.
2. Open the lid, while the AirPods are still plugged in, to initiate pairing and firmware update.
3. Make sure they paired by going to Settings > General > About and seeing AirPods listed near the bottom of the list.
4. Go back to the main screen of Settings and continue to Notifications. You will now see the “Announce Messages with Siri” option.

What version of iPhone do you have, and what version of iOS? Do you have Apple AirPods or Beats?

I have the same issue. I’m on iOS 13.3 on iPhone X. Using AirPods 2. I’ve factory reset the AirPods. I’ve force restarted my phone. Can’t see the option to announce messages in Notifications.

Plugged into power or plugged into what? I plugged them into power and they’re listen in general > about but it still doesn’t work
