I got a new iMac recently: my old mac had a lock screen with more options: i.e. password, sleep, shutdown. Now, there is only the option to add your password to log back in. Can I change this to have the sleep and shutdown options again?
iMac 21.5", macOS 10.12
Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups...
Unlock the panel, then select Login Options
Check the box that says "Show the Sleep, Restart and Shut Down buttons.
Close Sys Prefs.
Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups...
Unlock the panel, then select Login Options
Check the box that says "Show the Sleep, Restart and Shut Down buttons.
Close Sys Prefs.
Are you logged into an Admin. or Other User Account?
If you are are logged in as an Other User, try logging into your Admin. Account.
Thank you, however I did as per above, but the button was already checked. I undid, then redid, and restarted the computer, but alas, still showing just password request. Any suggestions?
