Deleting photos/videos from text messages

When I delete an attachment (photo, video) from a text, does it also remove it from my photos? For example, if it is in photos, but I attached it, does it remove it from both the text and my photos?

No, it does not. Photos that you attach to a message from your Camera Roll will remain there. Photos that you receive will only be in your Camera Roll if you save then first. If you wish to save them do that before you delete the message.
