Does a normal wireless windows keyboard with a USB receiver work on Macbook pro?

Pretty much any one should work. It's a pretty standard generic USB HID driver. The main issue would be converting to Apple's command/control/option keys and a few things that convert.

Go to the keyboard manufacturer's site and look at their system requirements. We have no idea what "... a normal wireless windows keyboard with a USB receiver...". is. If it has MacOS drivers then presumably it will work.

Well the majority of peripheral manufacturers use pretty much the same hid so I do not imagine he will be getting something that’s out of the ordinary. Keyboards from Logitech, Corsair, cooler master and dell have worked well with my Mac.

I don't think that is true. Not all windows "wireless" keyboards that require USB dongles will work right. It would probably not be wise to buy one which has compatibility specs that only list Windows and PC's.

What USB receiver wouldn't use a standard USB human interface device class driver?

"most" is not all. The OP has not specified which they were asking about and you responded that it will work.
