Is there a way to use wallet on iPhone without it locking the homescreen? I know there is a four hour option, but is there a way to never lock the homescreen and keep the wallet?

Yes! If you go to Settings app and scroll down to Wallet and Apple Pay, you can turn on "double click home button" and when your phone is locked you will be able to double click the home button and wallet will appear!
