Since Catalina macbook pro won't connect with wifi

Since Catalina upgrade macbook pro won't connect to wifi. Network shows, but in "Network" I choose network name it shows, I click apply and it shows "no network selected". Sometimes it asks for the password which I give and it won't connect. I've restarted the MacBook and turned the wifi off and on and nothing. The wifi's working and I'm now using an old MacBook on the same network.

What's going on? Thanks

I agree. It seems we did everything within the Apple protocol for this issue with no resolution and they now have the reports. I'm to get a call next week from an "engineer". My confidence is low. Perhaps I should uninstall Catalina. What do you think?

It is up to you of course.

I can say it will be meaningless to trouble shoot the diagnostic report with Engineers if you fall back.

However a week is a long time in waiting.

With Catalina you have to reformat/erase the "parent" drive to get rid of the Container otherwise you end up with other set of issues.

Internet Recovery>Disk Utility>View>Show All Devices> the parent drive (physical drive)

I've already gone through this list and still no wifi. I've tried everything I can think of and no wifi. The signal is very strong and works with everything else. And hotspot works. This is new and only happened after I updated to Catalina. Might there be something in that? As I mentioned, the wifi network shows and when I go to Network and click on Network Name and apply, it shows "no network selected". Please help me figure this out. Thanks.

I've done everything suggested and went to Apple Support and the person, after over an hour on the phone, was not able to fix it. Seems to be a problem with Catalina. I welcome any suggestions of what I might try next. Thanks

Well it would be good to know what you have tried after your hour on the phone with Apple support—

at the risk of being redundant and wasting breath.
