Messages won't open on my Mac

I am running MacOS 10.15.2 Catalina and my messages app is version 13. When I click on the app either from the dock or the applications folder it appears to start and then suddenly quits. I have restarted my Mac several times. Nothing seems to help. Thanks for your help.

Startup in Safe Mode https://support.apple.com/lv-lv/HT201262

Once in Safe Mode, test Messages.

If it works, quit Messages and click "Restart" button at the bottom to exit Safe Mode.

Test Messages now.
