Apple watch model A2008: ECG doesn't work

The Apple Watch Series 4 and 5 can perform ECG If and ONLY IF the Apple Watch was purchased in a country that has given government approval for the ECG app And the Apple Watch is being used in a country that has given government approval for the ECG app.

The wording of the available Apple documentation implies that the watch must be purchased in the same country where the usage occurs. Contact Apple Support for the official answer. Which you’re going to be doing anyway, if this is a firmware or hardware problem.

A2008 is a series 4 watch 44mm GPS cellular model, per MacTracker.

Apple doesn’t sell the Series 4 anymore so you must have purchased it from a gray market seller. Return it and get your money back.

Actually it is true, that is an Israeli marketed Apple Watch and the government has not yet approved that function so you cannot use it.

What is the model number of this Watch? On the Watch, Settings > General > About > Model. There will be two numbers when you see one tap it and then get the other one and post both.
