why is this cable impossible to make?

i’d like to connect my ipad pro (lightning) to my usb-c projector. apple’s lightning to usb-c, naturally, does not carry a video signal. there does exist a usb-c to usb-c video cable. i’d like to do this with as few adapters as possible and have no need for anything hdmi. i know how to get this all done with $200 worth of cables and adapters that is not only ridiculous overkill financially, but leaves me with more items to lose and buy again. is this radical technology that is years off?

Apple - and other manufacturers - do produce Lightning to USB-Cables, so the cable is not going to be a problem.

Whether your iPad is capable of driving your USB-C projector is another matter entirely.

yes, that’s the standard apple cable, and the other 3rd parties like it, are just for changing. that’s what i was saying initially, none of them carry video.

The Lightning connector cannot transmit sufficient power to transmit both video signals and streaming video data through any Lightning connector equipt cables.

You will never, ever be able to transmit video signal solely with a lone Lightning cable.

This is what Apple's Lightning to digital ( HDMI ) AV adapter is designed to do.

The projector you have doesn’t have an HDMI connection for video and audio?

Contact the manufacturer of your projector and ask them if they know how to project from iPad.
