Battery Failure

Since I updated my MacBook Air to 10.15.2, the battery has failed. I have to have it plugged in at all times. The "Service Battery" warning is displayed. Is there a fix for this? Since I use this for business and need to travel with it, I need to have the battery functioning properly.

Although it may be possible the upgrade caused the issue, a "Service Battery" condition is, most likely, caused by something else. Regardless, this is the "worst case scenario" for the battery, and you should consider getting it replaced sooner than later. A swollen battery may be the next stage which can cause additional damage to your notebook.

The fix is a new battery. Not sure where you're located, but all MacBook Air models are $129 in the United States and it's a fairly simple and quick procedure for Apple or an AASP to do. It's not glued in an is actually replaced (compared to a top case replacement needed for other newer Mac notebook computers.
