Dell p2419hc -- Downstream USB issue

I recently purchased the Dell p2419hc usb-c monitor to pair with my MBP. The display and usb-c charging have been great, but today I realized that I cannot use the classic USB ports on the side of the monitor to read usb drives or plug in usb peripherals.

Has anyone else had this issue or found a way to make these ports work? I was hoping to NOT purchase a usb-c hub/dock because of this new monitor.

Thanks!

Hello Smouve,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand from the information you provided that the USB ports on your USB-C monitor are not working; I'd like to help.

The following support article provides some troubleshooting steps to try for this behavior:

Another thing you can do is connect the monitor to another computer and see if you have the same issue. Also, try reaching out to Dell directly to see if they can help.

Best Regards.
