Music marked as “E” for explicit when it has no swears

I’ve seen people having an issue with explicit music NOT being marked E. I have the opposite problem. I restricted my son’s music to clean he has shown me examples where a song marked E had no profanities whatsoever. And one of these was a song he was using for a school project (too late to change it). Can anything be done about this?

deryk144,

I took a moment to look up the song. I found two versions that seemed to be identical, and while neither had explicit content or lyrics, one was indeed marked "Explicit."

I know you mentioned that there are several of these, but leaving feedback on the form I’ve linked below would be the best way to report an incorrect "Explicit" designation.

I can’t seem to find two versions of that song, just the one with the E. I have left feedback for that one through the link in the first response.

So none of this explains why this is happening... My theory is that Apple’s algorithm that handles this slaps an “E” on all of this artist’s stuff because of the “xxx” in his name. Then the handful of his tracks without it are the result of people leaving feedback.

Thanks again for the replies.
