Files App Disappeared

My Files app icon has disappeared from both my iPad and from my iPhone XR.

When I go to the App Store, it indicates I already have downloaded the app, and if I hit OPEN, the app opens, which isn’t convenient.

I’ve searched my screens to see if it was buried somewhere to no avail. I’ve soft-rebooted the iPad and iPhone and that didn’t work

Where did it go?

iPad Air, iOS 12

No idea where it went, but a simple step in resetting your Home Screen layout should resolve the problem:

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout

No data will be lost - only your desktop icons will be reset.

I hope this is helpful in resolving your problem.

Okay... next steps.

1) Backup your device(s) using iCloud (recommended) or iTunes.

2) Connect your device(s) to your PC/Mac - then initiate a full restore process. This will install a fresh copy of the most recent supported version of iOS/iPadOS - then restore your backup data to the device(s).
