Slideshow without internet connection

I have a slideshow in Photos I need to show in locations without access to the internet. Now when I start a slideshow it starts downloading the photos (851 of them from iCloud. I need to show this slideshow in locations where I may not have an internet connection. Is there a way to do so?

I would create the slideshow in a second photos library, that is not syncing with iCloud. If you do not have enough free storage, copy your Photos Library to a USB thumbs drive, but after you downloaded the photos. It is one of the disadvantages of using "Optimise Storage", that we have to download all photos before we can copy a library.

I prefer to use separate libraries for each project. This way I will not accidentally delete photos, that are needed for a slideshow or book project.

Exporting the slideshow as a video is fine, but it is more difficult to control the presentation, if it is a video. It is harder toi step back between individual slides or find the Info for a photo, if there should be questions from your audience.

I downloaded the slideshow but couldn't export it because as soon as I tried to play it the download started again. The option in Photos to download slideshow is always greyed out. This happened before. I tell it to play the slideshow and it starts downloading the photos. Once they are downloaded I tell it to play the slideshow and it starts downloading all over again.

Any thoughts on how to create the video file you recommended?
