I lost my left AirPod and it says it’s somewhere in my house on the app find my iPhone. When I try to ping it it won’t load and just says pending. When I take my left one out of the case and ping it it works so I’m confused.

If your AirPods are out of Bluetooth range, out of charge, or in the case with the cover closed they won't appear in Find My. You just have to find them manually by looking for them.
