No access to old phone # to verify Apple ID log-in

I changed my phone number unexpectedly & reset all settings on my iPhone (in order for the new number to update on my phone).. I was forced to create a new iCloud/Apple ID account to set up my phone because I cannot log into my previously used Apple ID without entering a verification code that would be sent to my old/deactivated phone number.

I have the password to the account and have access the email associated with it however I am not able to log in anywhere without being prompted for a verification text to my old phone #. How can I get around this? I just want to get into that old Apple ID account to cancel the subscriptions I had so I won’t keep getting charged :(
