Why does airplay 2 on Samsung smart TV not work with a MacBook Pro?

My MacBook Pro with macOS High Sierra cannot connect to a new samsung smart TV with airplay 2. Firewall settings are adjusted to allow built in software to receive incoming communications or even set to off, both TV and MacBook Pro are on the same WIFI network. The airplay icon appears but keeps saying "Airplay: Looking for Apple TV". In display preferences, Airplay display cannot be changed from off.

My iPhone connects to the tv with Airplay without any problems.

Is there anyway to fix this?
