MacBook Pro (Mid 2014) sleeps/shuts down moments after opening while on battery power.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) sleeps/shuts down moments after opening and signing in while on battery power. I open the notebook, log in, and begin a task (whether its opening an email, loading a webpage, or pulling up a Word document) and the MacBook display goes black without warning. It happens about two-thirds of the time, but it doesn't matter what percentage the battery shows -- it does it when the battery shows 70+% and when it shows 20%. I have to plug it in and wait a few minutes before it will do anything. Then, I have to hold down the power button for several seconds before it seemingly just wakes up and prompts me to log back in. When it starts back up the battery shows the same charge as it did right before it slept/shutdown. Usually, its just as I left it when it inexplicably slept/shut down, all the same apps and pages are open. I'm at a loss. Its extremely frustrating and means I can't rely on the computer to work without the charger. I've reset the SMC, PRAM, etc. Any ideas?
