iphone 5 factory reset

Hi

I am trying to factory reset an Iphone 5 for someone at work .The recommended update has not been done last October and now when it's switched ON the phone shows the welcoming message and then displays the WIFI list. When trying to connect it says the phone is disabled or deactivated as it's in french.

I have tried to factory reset it by pressing the homeand wake/sleep button for 10 seconds but it goes back to initial display.

Can someone please advise how to factory reset it ?

Many thanks

iPhone 5

Greetings, and thanks for posting, constantin51!

It looks like you have questions about how to restore your iPhone 5 to factory settings.  I’d be happy to assist!

To begin, you’ll need a computer to restore your iPhone with iTunes or via Finder on macOS Catalina.  You can find the steps to complete that process at: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

If you’re unable to complete that process, Contact Apple Support.
