Phony e-mail

I got an e-mail from apple or at least it says it’s apple, saying that my Apple ID is locked and that if I don’t verify my account in 12h it will be locked permanently. Also in the verification process it asks for my credit card details which I found suspicious and stopped the whole procedure. Just checking if it’s something I should worry about ? Omg the following I’m sending the e-mail I got.

iPhone 7, iOS 13

  • Apple does not send such messages.
  • Apple would not warn of a pending account issue, giving you a deadline to fix the issue.
  • Apple does not include document, or PDF files to download.
  • Apple would not refer to you as Dear Customer, Dear Client, or anything other than the name on file for your account.
  • Apple would not have such horrible spelling or grammar.
  • Apple would not send a message to “Undisclosed Recipients”.

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message, as an attachment to Apple.

Apple will NEVER send emails about your account being locked. It is phishing. In a message Apple will always address you by your real name, never by your email address or Dear Customer. Also the sent-from address should be @apple.com or @itunes.com Additionally Apple does not send attachments.
