unlock iPhone 5
I am no longer connected to a provider and i want to unlock (or find out) if my iPhone is unlocked. If i connect with my old provider, this phone is not registered.

You have to request a carrier unlock from whoever the phone was locked to, even if you are not currently under contract with them.
