I have to turn my AirPod sideways to hear and full volume

So my AirPods worked great for a long time but I clean my left one with a wooden pick (and without water) but now it is really really quiet but I can hear at almost normal volume when I turn it sideways. I thought it was dirty but I cleaned it and it didn’t change anything, I also made sure that the balance settings were right. I don’t think this is normal because I can’t find anything related to this. Also I just clean my right AirPod and it’s having the same problem
