can not copy files on to my internal hardrive

Updated to Catalina and now I can not see my folders or copy new folders to my hardrive. I get the no entry symbol appearing.

I have found my folder in the Volume folder.

HOW CAN I GO BACK TO NORMAL, CREATING FOLDERS AND ITEMS TO MY APPLE HARDRIVE?

You cannot modify the root level of the startup drive in Catalina.

If you stored files there, before the upgrade, they will have been moved to a Relocated Items folder in /Users/Shared

You should save all of your files inside your home folder, or in /Users/Shared.
