Apple Cinema Display (2004) to MacBook Air (late 2010)

Can one connect these two to work?

Display model A1081, MacBook Air A1369.

I have a DVI/HDMI/VGA to mini-display port adapter so far.

Managed to connect the monitor's DVI output to the Mac with the above adapter.

Managed to connect the monitor's USB output to the Mac simply.

Do I have to connect the monitor's Firewire output to the Mac? I guess so, but how?

Can you please advise?

Not young gadjets, but I like them very much..
