Export or download your Apple Card transactions

You can export or download transactions from a previous month as a .CSV file to use with third-party financial apps and programs that support this file format.

This is not a question and I do not need technical assistance. I am posting this so people can find it easier.

Apple does provide a transaction download in either CSV or OFX format. The OFX format is an open standard for the transmission of financial data. Unfortunately the OFX format does not work with Quicken as they have a proprietary QFX format which is a derivation of the OFX format. I think they do this to make banks/providers pay a fee to Quicken to be listed in their authorized financial institutions.

There is utility software, which you can purchase, to convert the from OFX to QFX. I purchased a utility and it works fine with the OFX file exported from Apple Card. Too bad apple cannot pay the fee to create a native QFX file to more directly import the file without having to convert. Maybe in the future.

i use the OFX2QFX converter to do the same thing to load the data into Quicken. Takes only minutes.

  1. Download ofx file from apple card by tapping card balance
  2. Select the the statement I want to download
  3. Select Export transactions
  4. Select OFX format,
  5. Select either save to Drop Box or Save to files
  6. Launch OFX2QFX converter, load the file and convert it.
  7. Launch Quicken and import the QFX file (first time you will need to link to a file)

If Apple produced a QFX file you wouldn't need a converter and could skip step 6 but this works just fine.

I applied for the card but I think I'm going to have to cancel.. I use quicken to do my monthly budgets and track my progress I'm a little disappointed that this card doesn't work with quicken. I glad you can down load the statement at the end of the billing cycle but that won't work for me.. hopefully in the future this may be addressed...

I just dont understand why Apple released this service/card without it being able to have the transactions directly downloadable into Quicken. The CSV file (Microsoft Money) is a crude work-around. I already have to do 'workarounds' to even use the card (too thick for old style card readers, no numbers for clerks to enter, etc.. etc.) I got frustrated enough to cancle the card, today. Ill sign up again when Apple eventually addresses these issues.

Thank you Welafever.

Kind of odd that Apple would not have taken the time in "designing" this special card and not realizing that people expect to download it into Quicken and other financial software. Chase, Discover, Capital One, American Express, and most Master Card and Visa have all had that for 10 or more years.

I am thankful I do not have to hand enter the details like I did for October and November, but to have to take a CVS file and turn it into a QIF file, adding headers--per month, per account.

If apple is reading this, are you pressuring Goldman Sachs to come into the current century and allow for downloads? It should be a minimum requirement for a well designed credit card and why no one thought about it is beyond me.
