No wifi on 3G 4.0.1

I have same problem. After update to iOS 4.0 my Wifi worked sometimes, sometimes not. Now i have no Wi-Fi anymore...it cannot find any networks

I have that problem too. I see my network and my works network but it just cant connect to it. It connects then disconnects and back and forth constantly.

The same problem with wifi. This started after upgrading to iOS 4.0. At first there were problems with wifi connections and now it can't find any networks. Few days ago suddenly found home network, worked fine for an hour and then after reboot, don't see anything again. That's awful.

I also had the same problem. Went to apple today and possibly said I have a hardware problem. I asked them to fix it and they refused. The guy said that the only thing he could do is to exchange the iphone with a new one. That's extremely ridiculous apple...You cannot fix your phone??????????????????

Now my Wi-Fi greyed out and says "No Wi-Fi"

This definitely not a Hardware-problem! It's iOS4 problem. My Wi-Fi worked perfekt.

No-one fixes hardware problems with mobile phones - they only ever exchange. Better for you anyway: if they exchange, you get a new phone fast; if they repair, you give them your phone and wait for weeks to get it back.

i have same problem.... after iOS 4.0 and 4.0.1 upgrade my Wi-Fi works very bad.
But i have another problem too.... GPS stops working. Can you verify that?
I suppose there is a big bug in the new Baseband code.....

I am a bit surprised that people agree on that... So if my silent switch fails I have to change a phone?????

Guys there is no way to pay 270chf for a wifi signal problem...no way... I have spent a lot of money in apple products...but not to this..

Since 4.0 update on my 3G, there is no working wifi. Forget these ridiculous solutions posted here. I cannot connect to any of my different, independent networks at any of my houses, places of work, or café hot spots. I have tweaked, played with the phone and even restored the phone. NOTHING WORKS.

APPLE - You clearly have known about this for some time as this has been posted on the net early summer. Why have you not fixed this??? Wifi on a smart phone is a major selling point and the reason many people bought the iPhone. You are getting stuck in the Business Bermuda Triangle!

iOS4 actually killed my wifi. Now it's grayed out and reporting "no wifi". GRRRRRR!!! I'm certain it was the OS

For all those that are reading this string.... I was on the phone w/ apple for a while, and went to the store 3 times. Finally they replaced my iphone 3g with one that did not have 4.0 on it. Since, then I have declined each time I am prompted to upgrade the OS. 4.0 killed my wifi, dropped calls, slowed everything down, froze the phone, etc etc etc. I just hope I don't accidently download it again.

It's been reported elsewhere that putting your iPhone in the freezer will temporarily restore the WiFi. Alas, it disappears again once the phone warms up. This is indicative of a hardware failure, and could well have been caused by overheating due to bug in the iOSlow software.

It's rather simple to make sure you do not download iOS4 again to your iPhone.

The next time you are prompted to upgrade to it, check the box "Do not ask me again" and click No.

I promise you that you will never be prompted to download it again thru iTunes.

By the way, I went to my local Apple store, too, and they replaced it for me as well, but they did it the first time with no hassles. The phone works great again.

This is sooo annoying. I have exactly the same problem on my 3G with 4.0.1.
Dear Apple, could you please fix this??

I have a 3G. I have the same problem. The phone just wont "see" any wifi networks. The kid working at the apple store thought it seemed like a software issue. I hope apple gets on this...
