System Storage

I need help.... My MacBook Pro is telling me that System is using 300+Gb and it appears to be crippling my computer. I have followed all the advice e.g. moving stuff to iCloud and external drives (including Time Machine back ups) but it is still running at 300+ Gb....

If you synced to iCould, then the items would not have been removed from your Mac. You can optimize storage on your Mac https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/system-information/sysp4ee93ca4/10.14/mac/10.15 But, I wonder what your intention is, Syncing files to all of your devices or backing your files up?
