Air print problems for Samsung: Xpress M2835DW

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)/Samsung: Xpress M2835DW

I've recently updated to MacOS Catalina 10.15.1 Printers and Scanners folder shows Samsung M283x Series (SEC30CDA7904B08) Bonjour as available driver for AirPrint.

But I get continual printing of single/double lines of 'random' letters and symbols to one side of A4.

I get periodic alerts of “Secautosetup” cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be update. Contact the developer for more information.

At the moment I'm using the driver 'Generic PCL Laser Printer' – and it works. Does anyone have a better idea or information about when to expect a driver update from Samsung (HP)?

Good morning BreeZee_17,

thank you for your answer and the link to Apple support. The problem is not that the printer is not accessible via AirPrint, but that the printer is continual printing of single/double lines of 'random' letters and symbols to one side of A4. The last print operation over one A4 page (from Office 365 // Microsoft Word) 'destroyed' the entire paper supply of the printer (250 sheets). In the end I have found a 'solution' or work-around using the driver 'Generic PCL Laser Printer'.

I think the problem is due to the Samsung (HP) printer driver in conjunction with the current Mac OS - and I will probably have to wait for an up-to-date driver.

Thanks again and best regards!
