Keyboard shortcut not working in Safari -- A SOLUTION!

Suddenly, out of left field today, the Command-t shortcut for New Tab stopped working in Safari. I tried several things, including checking system keyboard shortcuts, iKey macro conflicts, Language-Region settings, etc. I even tried defining keyboard shortcuts and turning off all macro launchers involving t. Nothing worked.

Turns out that all I had to do was log out of my user account (under Apple menu). I logged back in via a Guest User, and launched Safari, and the command-t shortcut worked. Logged out of Guest User and back into my regular account and all is right in Safari world again!

Weird, eh?

I'm posting this in case anyone else encounters this problem -- and would like to try an easy solution before the far more laborious ones in old threads!

I will confess that I did one other thing. While in my user account, I deleted the Greek keyboard choice under Language - Region in Preferences. Which didn't do anything for me.

However, when I logged out and back, the Command-T worked again. I added back the Greek keyboard and the keyboard shortcut kept working.

So, all is well. I thought I should add that wrinkle in case it had anything to do with my success!
