UK - how do you set up BT email on the iPad and iPhone?

We have recently had security issues on a BT account, so everything had to change. Once it had been changed, we can no longer get BT mail on the iPad or iPhone. We spent ages on the phone with BT trying to set it all back up, but without success. They insist it’s a problem with Apple and the outgoing server. Any ideas gratefully received...

Follow the steps here and make sure the account is correctly set up: Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support


You may need to delete it, and add it again.
