i pencil not working anymore

My pencil has suddenly gave me probs. I have no compatibility issues- all hardware is good. One day, tried to use my pencil and iPad wouldn't recognize it. When I insert the pencil to charge it will not charge and seems loose in the charge port. The charger for the iPad works just fine and will charge my iPad as it should. I bought a charger just for the iPencil. It now will NOT pair and since it fits loosly in the iPad it won't connect. WHAT DO I DO?? The latest update for iPad seems to have KILLED my iPencil!! Apple people PLEASE help!!!
