Convert ".MOV" for QuickTime to read

I cannot believe it's been more than 24 hours and I've received NO response how to convert an ".MOV" file, recorded on an iPhone, to play using QuickTime on my Macbook, BOTH BEING APPLE PRODUCTS. REALLY??? Is there nobody that has an answer?

Upgrade to Catalina on your Mac or switch to most compatible in the Camera app settings.

… or change the USB-Transfer setting, to convert HEVC (H.265) to AVC (H.264) during transfer, when needed.
