since I did an update on my MacBook Air the quality of recordings on QuickTime Player have deteriorated... should I delete it and do a new download of Quick Time Player? This problem has only occurred since this latest update

Has anyone else had this problem since doing an update?

How do I fix this problem... Audio recordings using QuickTime Player are now not as good, the sound is not as even as before, and the volume fades at times... I'm very disappointed.

Do I need to re-download a new version of QuickTime Player?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Ninuccio,

Thanks for your question about Quicktime recording and audio quality after an update. I'd be glad to see how I can help.

Does this happen with multiple microphones, or is it isolate to a specific microphone? Have you tried this in a different user to see if the issue occurs there as well? If not, follow the steps in How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.

If the issue is isolated to just the one user account, you might have some software or settings that could be acting as a catalyst for this behavior. If that is the case, try using safe mode to see if the issue happens there as well.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

Let me know what you find out.

Best wishes.
