Just got an email that said account closed but still able to work on everything when I go to the email to unlock my account it asks for my social security number and will not let me continue with out entering it I don’t feel good about entering my social could this be a false email or is this the way Apple unlocks accounts

It is a phishing email, do not provide ANY information.
